The Tsvangirai siblings have maintained a legacy in Glen View South constituency following reports that Vincent Tsvangirai has won the primary elections to stand on MDC ticket in the by-elections set for September 7.
The seat was left vacant after the death of Vincent’s sister Vimbai Tsvangirai-Java after she succumbed to injuries sustained in a road traffic accident.
There were reports that party leader Nelson Chamisa was in support of Vincent while vice president Tendai Biti threw his weight on long-time ally Paul Madzore.
In the build up to the 2018 elections the opposition party was rocked by reports of imposition of candidates for both Parliamentary and local government elections and it frequently led to double candidacy like in the case of Nketa constituency in Bulawayo.
