PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa on Tuesday said the government will continue to support young women entrepreneurs in the road of economic transformation.
The loans will be disbursed through the Women’s Empowerment Bank, Mnangagwa revealed during his State of the Nation Address (SONA).
The bank was launched last year in a bid to economically empower women, youths and other small-scale businesses in tandem with the Zimbabwe Is Open For Business mantra.
“In line with the government policy to empower young women entrepreneurs, the micro-finance bank will continue assisting women, youths and other small-scale business,” Mnangagwa said.
He further declared that his government will not rest until there is a bright future for the Zimbabwean citizens.
However, in the past the government has suffered challenges with some of the youths who default on loan repayments causing a strain on government coffers.
