CLOSE to a dozen soldiers were injured on Wednesday after an army bus veered off the road near Kuwadzana High Density suburb in Harare, along the Bulawayo Highway.
Zimbabwe National Army deputy spokesperson Major Alex Zuva told Zim Morning Post it was correct that the army bus was involved in an accident.
“Eleven soldiers who were injured were taken to Parirenyatwa Group of Hospitals for medical attention and others were admitted at army hospitals in Harare. Currently, we have not received information concerning deaths of soldiers. If there are deaths, we will let the media know,” Zuva said.
Witnesses say the army bus was overloaded.
The army did not disclose the extent of injuries suffered by those in hospital.
In April 2018, a bus carrying soldiers was involved in an accident that killed eight on the spot, while 31 others were seriously injured.
