Social media trolls late rapper Calvin for 2017 insult on God and Jesus

Top rapper Cal Vin dies

SOCIAL media is trolling the late Bulawayo-born singer Mgcini Calvin Nhliziyo for his 2017 insult on God and Jesus, Zim Morning Post can report.

Calvin was run over by a car on Saturday in Luveve on his way from watching a football match at a local club.

In a manner which is a complete negation of the Shona adage wafa Wanaka (loosely translated to the effect that when you die people do not talk bad things about you), some social media users blasted the late rapper for ‘cursing’ himself.

He is the author of his own calamity, how can he diss the Creator,” wrote one Facebook user Tafadzwa Mariboi.

“He asked God to kill him,” wrote another user.

These sentiments follow the late Calvin’s stunning Facebook post back in 2017.

He shocked fans when he went on a tirade after reportedly losing a close family member, insulting God and Jesus and daring them to take his life if they were real.

This outburst divided his fans with some saying he was using his ‘poetic licence’ as an artiste and this debate has followed him to the grave.

Family spokesperson Sithembile Sibanda, an aunt to the singer, said the family was “devastated”.

“He had his whole life ahead of him. We are hurting,” Sibanda

Calvin died at the age of 35 and he has produced hits such as Bebengangikholwa and Zkhuphani which earned him gongs at the Zim Hip Hop Awards.

Zkhuphani was a collaboration with top South African rapper Casper Nyovest.

Let the nigar perish for his mouth. The problem is that you just listen to the style and rhythm but not following lyrics so it pains you but to me ah hail no. Farisa but not kuzvidza Musiki. Farisa kana kukwirana namhamha vako not kutuka kana kuzvidza Mwari. You die young.

Liam Chombo What’s the point of bringin this up? Who are you to judge him? So much that even before his body is cold you’re denying him rest? If you’re a Christian you’d be more considerate… coz I’m sure the Lord forgave him ages ago. He was a gospel rapper for most of his life and you judge him based on his frustrations? Have a heart Christian
