BARELY a month after First Lady Auxillia Mnangagwa led an anti-drug abuse and child marriages campaign in Epworth, three men have been dragged to the Rotten Row Magistrates’ Courts on charges of sexually molesting girls under the legal age of majority.
Amai Mnangagwa denounced such behaviour but it seems Epworth it fell on deaf ears.
The three all appeared before Harare magistrate Victoria Mashamba on Thursday.
First to appear before the courts was Kelvin Tatenda Kariri.
Kariri is alleged to have sexually abused a minor on a date yet to be known but between 2018 and October 2019.
His trial date was moved to November 29 and he was granted ZWL100 bail.
In a related matter, Vincent Mbodza, also from Domboramwari, Epworth, on Wednesday appeared before Mashamba on similar allegations of unlawfully and intentionally sexually abusing another minor.
Another Epworth resident, Nomore Makwara, also appeared before Mashamba on similar charges as Mbodza and Kariri.
Makwara’s case has been remanded to December 3 and was also asked to deposit ZWL100 as bail money.
The neighbourhood has been famed for cheap sex services at a rendezvous known as ‘Pabooster’.
