The accused, Kelvin Mabasa and Cosma Mililo – who are currently in police custody , appeared before Harare Magistrate Victoria Mashamba.

Mabasa is an alleged serial thief, with many pending cases that are sub judice.
It is the State’s case is that the two sold two Huawei cellphones to the unnamed complainants on the day they were arrested, but allegedly later followed them with other five men who are still at large.
The two allegedly told their clients that they nolonger wanted to sell their cellphones and surrendered US$40 to the complainants.
As a result, the complainants gave them back one phone but the two accused still demanded that they be given the other phone, which was equivalent to US$50.
In the ensuing argument, the accused then allegedly took US$130 and ZWL20 from the victims by force.
The State denied them bail for fear they would interfere with evidence as their other five alleged accomplices are still at large.
