Predator in Chipinge Arrested for Molesting 14-Year-Old Girl
A Chipinge predator has been arrested for attempted molestation of a 14-year-old girl on her way home from the river.
Predator’s Rage After Rejection Fuels Attack
According to reports, the incident occurred on August 6, 2024. The predator met the girl on her way home from the river, where she had been bathing. He approached her and attempted to propose love to her. She rejected his proposal, which angered the accused man. He then tripped her and forced her to the ground.

Struggle for Survival
The predator then mounted on top of her and forcibly removed her skin-tight clothes and pants, attempting to molest her. The girl started screaming, which forced the predator to cover her mouth. They then began wrestling, and fortunately for the girl, she scratched his face and overpowered him.

A Swift Response to Danger
A passerby noticed what was happening and approached the scene. Upon arriving, the man managed to flee the scene. The passerby then accompanied the girl to the police station and filed a report. An investigation was conducted, leading to the predator’s arrest.

Justice Service
The predator appeared before the Beitbridge Magistrates Court facing attempted rape charges. He was found guilty and sentenced to 3 years in jail.

“A 24-year-old man from Chipinge stood before the Beitbridge Magistrates Court on attempted rape charges. The accused person was sentenced to 3 years of imprisonment, of which 1 year was suspended on the condition of good behavior. He will effectively serve 2 years,” read the NPaz press statement.
