Ngezi Platinum eyes premier league title

Despite losing it on the dot Ngezi Platinum FC has renewed its love and hopes to lift the most decorated title in the country, the Castle Premier Soccer League.

Ngezi lost it to their fellow miners FC Platinum who are nicknamed “Kugona Kunenge Kudada” or Pure Platinum Play.

Ngezi who lost the league with 13 points last season has appointed three captains to lead the Platinum miners in the forthcoming season.

The Captains are Liberty Chakoroma deputized by Frank Makarati and Xolisani Moyo.

Speaking from South Africa where the team is currently camped for Pre -Season, Chakoroma said that their target is to win the premier league this season.

“Our target as a team is the championship and also as an individual I want the championship,” Said Chakoroma.

Chakoroma also said the want to learn from their mistakes last season. He also said that they are getting a lot of lessons from their trip in  South Africa despite losing to Bidvest Wits.

“This camp is helping us to bond as Ngezi players and losing to Bidvest made us realise our mistakes and we are now correcting them,” added Chakoroma.

Ngezi who are now under the guidance of former Highlanders F.C gaffer Elroy Akbay have assembled a strong squad and a competitive technical team.
It parted ways with Tonderai Ndiraya towards the end of last season and Clifton Kadurira had to steer the ship to end of the season.

The league which is expected to start late this month has seen local teams being active in the market in a bid to beef up their squads to challenge the league and other cups this season

Teams like Dynamos have made serious changes in bringing  new faces into the fading Harare giants.
