MDC Youths Friday morning used the cover of Robert Mugabe’s demise to stage an unannounced demonstration.
The opposition youths marched from Harvest House to National Assembly in protest against constitutional rights violations.
“President Emmerson Mnangagwa must stop abusing our Constitution of Zimbabwe which guarantees the right to demonstrate,” MDC Youth Assembly Chairperson Obey Sithole told demonstrators outside Parliament.
“We have been writing letters to the police seeking clearance so that they can grant us the permission to hold peaceful demonstrations but we are not allowed,” he continued.
“This is the starting point. We are not going to stop until youths problems have been addressed,” he added.
After the short demonstration Sithole was whisked away while the rest of the demonstrators quickly disappeared.
