Political activist and opposition political party LEAD Zimbabwe leader Linda Masarira has dragged her 19-year old son to court on allegations of stealing her mobile phone.
The son Kudakwashe Mhlanga (19) appeared at the Harare magistrate court on Wednesday facing charges of theft after allegations that he stole her monther’s phone valued at $650.
Prosecuting Felistas Mungoma alleged that Masarira left her mobile phone in her bedroom and left home for a driving licence road test drive and left Mhlanga at home.
It is alleged that when Masarira returned home, she asked her husband to charge the phone but it was nowhere to be found.
Masarira had a hunch feeling that her son had stolen the phone since he was the only person at the scene when she left the house.
She later discovered that her husband’s safety shoes were also missing.
She filed a report at Marlborough Police Station and her son was nabbed at Greencroft shopping centre in possession of the loot.
He tried to escape but was caught by the vigilant cops and taken into custody.
The presiding magistrate remanded him in custody.
