Harare man up for murder

A 27-YEAR-OLD Harare man and his accomplice on Monday appeared before magistrate Learnmore Mapiye facing allegations of manslaughter.

Allegations are that on Saturday, Moses Muronda ganged up with his friend Terrance Chigume to ‘teach’ his wife’s alleged lover a lesson, but the mission went awry, with the two eventually stabbing their victim to death.

It is the State’s case that Muronda on Saturday got wind of his wife’s alleged promiscuity with another and as a result hired one Chigume to accompany him so he could exact instant justice on his wife’s ‘boyfriend’.

Muronda, his wife and Chigume reportedly visited the deceased’s homestead at night, woke him up and attacked him inside the locked doors of his home.

Muronda allegedly attacked the deceased with a blunt object, leading to the victim bleeding profusely on his shoulders and stomach.

The victim was taken to hospital, but died on arrival at the medical facility.

The accused were denied, with the court adjourning to November 12 for bail hearing.
