GOSPEL artiste Plaxedes Meck is hogging the limelight with her latest track ‘Revive Zimbabwe’ which implores the country to seek God’s favour.
The song, produced by Blessing Masanga at Heartland Five B’z Studios, has become a favourite on many regional and national radio stations.
“This is a prayer song for our beloved nation. Our country is facing so many challenges which require divine intervention. I wrote the song in order to motivate Zimbabweans and implore them to kneel down and pray for our God to come through and heal and bless our land,” said Meck.
She attributed the increasing popularity of the song to its “relevant message.”
“I have been pleasantly surprised by the popularity of the song. It is being played a lot on ZTV because it captures the essence of what we are going through as a country. People have really fallen in love with it,“said the rising gospel star.
The success of ‘Revive Zimbabwe,’ which she recorded late last year, has motivated Meck to work on a new song.
“I am working on a single which I hope to release in October this year. I am working again with producer Blessing Masango. My husband Daniel Meck is also making a lot of invaluable input as usual,” she said.
Meck burst on the music scene four years ago with a 10-track-gospel-album titled ‘Kurangarirwa Nedenga’ which did fairly well.
Songs making her debut album are Zarurai Meso Angu, Ndovimba naMwari Wangu, Vandiyeuka, Mutsvene, Tachengetwa, Glory, Moyo Munyoro, Mwari Vanokomborera, Mashoko Amai and a bonus track Pamuchinjikwa.
The gospel star followed up the debut album with her 2018 single titled ‘Divine Decorations’ on which she collaborated with cleric Onismo Sasa.
