HARARE — Scotland FC players will earn a US$2,000 bonus each if they secure a 6-0 victory over Harare City in a Northern Region Soccer League clash on Matchday 35, club officials said.
The match, set for tomorrow at Mkushi Academy in Harare, is pivotal for the former NRSL leaders as the title race could come down to goal difference.
Scotland FC president Pedzai “Scott” Sakupwanya has incentivized the squad, challenging them to aim high in their matchup against one of the league’s toughest competitors.
If Scotland scores beyond six goals, players will receive an additional US$200 for each goal after the sixth. For instance, a 7-0 win would net each player US$2,200, while an 8-0 victory would bring them US$2,400.
Scotland recently pocketed a US$1,500 bonus after a 5-1 win over DZ Royal Stars at Rufaro Stadium on Wednesday.
The NRSL league has gone down to the wire with MWOS FC leading the standings with 76 points from 35 games, while Scotland is close behind with 75 points and a game in hand. Black Rhinos follow in third with 68 points.
As Scotland heads to Mkushi Academy with the league title on the line, tomorrow’s showdown promises a nail-biting finish in one of the most tightly contested NRSL seasons in recent memory.
