Four feared dead after Lake Kariba boat accident
A boat accident on Lake Kariba left four people missing and presumed dead on Saturday.
According to ZimParks spokesperson Tinashe Farawo, a team of divers is searching for the victims, but the chances of finding them alive are slim.
He said the boat had five passengers, but only one was rescued by nearby fishermen. The survivor was holding onto an empty container when he was found.
The cause of the accident is unknown, but some local fishermen said a large wave might have flipped the boat over.
This is not the first time a boat has capsized on Lake Kariba. In July 2021, another incident claimed the lives of five people.
