Former MDC MP dismisses suspension report

FORMER MDC member of Parliament for Mt St Mary’s, Marvelous Khumalo has  dismissed reports of his suspension from the directorship of the Chitungwiza and Manyame  Rural Residents Association (CAMERA) as he maintains that he is still in control.

During an exclusive interview with the Zim Morning Post, Khumalo professed ignorance of the dismissal as he made indications that he has not yet been served with any letter to that effect.

“I do not know the news that is being posted on social media that I was suspended and I am not aware of my suspension from being the director or accusations of playing the role of a public relations officer,” Khumalo said.

“I cannot comment on any of the allegations because its all news to me.”

The Zim Morning Post had sight of a letter written by the CAMERA Board Secretary, Davison Mupona dated August 29, directed to Khumalo advising him of his suspension from directorship.

I write to inform you of the decision to suspend you from the position of Director with immediate effect,” Mupona wrote.

We have noted over a long period of time that you are now compromised vis-a-vis your role of speaking on behalf of residents, you are now captured by the Town Clerk Mr Makunde.”

Khumalo was facing charges of fraud for allegedly duping a desperate home seeker of US$7 500 for a residential stand which he claimed was on sale.

The matter however could not be heard before court as it was withdrawn before the trial could kick off leaving a lot to be desired of the former member of Parliament’s conduct.
