Fachs College Expands Offerings and Reach
Fachs International College of Business & Technology, an independent higher education institution, has certified over 10,000 learners since its inception 11 years ago, marking a significant milestone.
School authorities say the achievement underscores the institution’s steadfast dedication to delivering quality education and training.
Farai Zimbango, from Gutu, Zimbabwe, and owner of Fachs International College of Business & Technology, highlighted the college’s decade-long impact, noting that the healthy influx of students has bolstered the institution’s reputation, diversity, program offerings, community engagement, and capacity for innovation.
“Over the past ten years, our short training courses have certified more than 10,000 learners. We’ve also engaged in charity activities through our golf days and assisted unemployed learners in gaining qualifications and securing jobs. Notably, our college has certified over 2,000 learners in the Northern Cape,” Zimbango said, who in 2011, founded FACHS Business Consulting and Training Pty Ltd, which earned various accreditations until it was registered as a Private College in 2018
Addressing recent media claims questioning the college’s registration, Zimbango reassured the public, “Fachs International College of Business & Technology is fully registered with the Department of Higher Education and Training in South Africa.”
“The college offers a diverse range of accredited programs across five key schools: Business and Finance, Education Sciences, Information Technology, and Public Administration. These programs comply with national standards, providing students with credible and recognized credentials, including National Certificates and Diplomas.”
Moving forward, the college aims to develop new learning programs, implement registered learnerships and skills programs, and provide extensive support to learners and government departments to address queries related to learning program procedures.

Established in 2016, Fachs International College of Business & Technology (FIC), also known as Fachs Business Consulting & Training, received its registration from the Department of Higher Education and Training (DHET) in the same year.
The college initially had four schools/faculties but has expanded to offer qualifications in ten schools/faculties, including Business Management, Human Resources Management, Finance & Accounting, Banking & Insurance, Educational Sciences, Media, Information Communications Technologies, Engineering, Agriculture, Tourism and Hospitality, and Leadership & Executive Development.
With learners from diverse backgrounds and cultures, Fachs College has become one of the preferred tertiary institutions in Gauteng.
Since its establishment, FIC has grown to have a robust presence in provinces such as the Northern Cape, Eastern Cape, KZN, and Western Cape, in addition to its main campus in Midrand, Johannesburg.
Fachs College, the shortened name of the institution, provides undergraduate programs, while its ten graduate and professional schools offer a wide range of educational opportunities to its student community.
