ENAZ Symposium to Highlight Agriculture’s Role in Zimbabwe’s Economic Growth

HARARE, Zimbabwe – The Entrepreneurs Network Association of Zimbabwe (ENAZ) will host a symposium on April 11, 2025, in Harare, bringing together stakeholders from agriculture, finance, and policy to explore ways to drive Zimbabwe’s economic recovery through agriculture.

The event will focus on food security, investment opportunities, and sustainable value addition, aligning with the country’s Vision 2030 goals. Agriculture contributes more than 17% of Zimbabwe’s gross domestic product and employs nearly 70% of the population, making it a key driver of economic stability and growth.

The symposium aligns with the Ministry of Lands, Agriculture, Fisheries, Water, and Rural Development’s efforts to boost productivity, mechanization, and sustainable farming practices. ENAZ Director Tsitsi Linda Mutemaringa said the event will highlight Zimbabwe as a destination for agricultural investment and strengthen public-private sector collaboration.

“We aim to showcase agriculture as a viable investment opportunity while fostering dialogue on modern farming trends, financing solutions, and technology-driven innovations,” Mutemaringa said.

More than 300 attendees, including investors, agribusiness leaders, policymakers, and international trade representatives, are expected to participate. Discussions will cover key topics such as:

Transitioning from subsistence to commercial agribusiness.

Integrating technology and innovation in farming.

Addressing climate resilience and sustainable agriculture.

Expanding trade and market access for Zimbabwean agricultural products.

Industry experts, government officials, and business leaders will provide insights on policy, investment, and the future of agriculture in Zimbabwe. The symposium supports President Emmerson Mnangagwa’s vision of an open economy, emphasizing agriculture’s role in job creation, export growth, and rural development.

With initiatives like the ENAZ symposium, Zimbabwe aims to position itself as a competitive agricultural hub, driving industrialization and economic transformation.
