Coronavirus: Roadport cordoned off, buses diverted to High Glen terminus

  • Passengers to disembark at High-Glen terminus
  • Ticket bookings remain at Roadport

HARARE Roadport Bus Terminus was this week cordoned off and only passengers intending to book tickets will be allowed inside, Zim Morning Post has learnt.

All buses will pick and drop passengers at Roadport High-Glen Bus Terminus, in a move to fight against the coronavirus (COVID-19)

The development aims to decongest the terminus which is the epicentre of all travellers destined for neighbouring countries.

“Yes, all passengers will be dropped at High Glen and no bus is allowed inside Roadport.

“This is in line with government’s directive to avoid gatherings of more than 100 people.

Buses from outside Zimbabwe might import COVID-19 due to weak systems at the border,” revealed an inside source who refused to be named.

President Emmerson Mnangagwa, on Tuesday, declared COVID-19 a national disaster and further decreed a ban on gatherings of more than 100 people.

Meanwhile,  Mnangagwa launched the COVID-19 National Preparedness Response Plan in Harare on Thursday.

He also announced that schools and tertiary institutions will be closed next Tuesday.
