- HR manager falsifies status to improve work conditions
- Chitungwiza HR department to report directly to Town Clerk

MARY Rashamira Mukonyora is in the midst of a raging storm after an audit report exposed her of misrepresenting her official status since 2012, claiming she was a departmental head (grade 14) when in fact she was a sectional head grade(13).
According to an audit report, Mukonyora falsified reports as she promoted herself to a departmental and not sectional head.
The report revealed that Mukonyora submitted a document headlined: Departmental Head Conditions of Service, in which she mentioned benefits accruable to her position which, however, was falsified.
“The document had a heading which said departmental head conditions of service yet she knew she was a sectional head,” the report noted.
The audit also noted that Mukonyora demanded that she be allocated benefits a notch above her grade.
The Chitungwiza HR manager fraudulently awarded herself (grade 14) benefits, including housing allocation, motor vehicle, holiday travel and a basic salary costing the council thousands of dollars.
The benefits were to effective from October 2012.
An audit manager, one A Chipunza, confirmed that Mukonyora had enjoyed benefits beyond those of her superiors, something which was against the “good corporate governance of public institutions.”
Meanwhile, the HR section has now been instructed to report directly to the Chitungwiza Town Clerk.
