MDC Alliance leader, Nelson Chamisa, has appointed a new acting leader of the opposition, an acting chief whip as well as an acting deputy chief whip in the National Assembly, Zim Morning Post can report.
MDC Alliance secretary general Chalton Hwende announced the changes in a letter addressed to the speaker of Parliament Jacob Mudenda.
“Please be advised that our party MDC Alliance has appointed the following members as the party’s leadership in parliament,” reads part of the letter.
“Honourable Lynnet Karenyi- Acting leader of opposition in parliament, Eric Murai (Acting chief whip, lower house) and Jasmine Toffa (acting deputy chief whip lower house).”
The changes follow the recall of Chamisa aligned legislators by the Thokozani Khupe led MDC-T.
