THE Zimbabwe Republic Police (ZRP) Chitungwiza on Friday caught red-handed a syndicate of four notorious land barons selling land in the dormitory town.
The apprehension of the four came after the police were tipped-off by some local residence, who indicated to them that a group of land barons was clandestinely distributing tuck-shops on land reserved for the construction of churches by the council.
When Zim Morning Post arrived at the scene, the alleged land barons had already been arrested.
In an interview with unanimous resident in Seke Unit O, this publication heard that the said barons had taken advantage of the COVID-19 lockdown to illegally allocate the tuck-shops stands.
Recently, Chitungwiza municipality acting town clerk, Tonderai Kasu, condemned the ongoing illegal parceling out of council land, warning perpetrators to immediately stop the practice.
