Former Information Communication Technology and Cyber Security Minister Supa Mandiwanzira has been cleared of all charges he was facing of criminal abuse of office by the High Court.
Justice Nicholas Mathonsi today quashed all allegations that were being leveled against Mandiwanzira in a matter in which he stood accused of handpicking a South African company, Megawatt Energy, to investigate a $218 milion murky Netone contract that was signed by former NetOne Chief Executive Officer Reward Kangai.
Mandiwanzira, who pleaded not guilty to the charges had argued that his efforts which were known to the Mugabe-led government, led to the recovery of US$30 million that had been fleeced from Netone by a foreign supplier, Huawei.
