BLACK Rhinos football club Secretary General Edward Mutukwa is in a bullish mood and on Tuesday he expressed confidence that the team will occupy a position in the top four ahead of the Premier Soccer League (PSL) that kicks off in March.
He said they are concentrating on building a team that is ready to fight for honours.
“We are confident that will achieve the target,” Mutukwa said.
Meanwhile, Mutukwa revealed that the team has sealed a two-year deal with former Dynamos midfielder Edgar Mhungu whom he said has flashes of brilliance in the middle of the park where he is expected to stabilise the midfield.
Mhungu has joined the team amongst other young enthusiasts, Tawanda Macheke, Simba Makoni and former Buffaloes player Nigel Gezani.
He also revealed that Steakes Mutizwa and Ignatious Kapitapita have joined the team as technical assistants and they are going to bring vast experience which is much needed in the team.
Black Rhinos FC finished at number 10 in the 2019 Zimbabwe Soccer Premier League table but they have vowed to put up a better show in the next season.
Plans are underway for the team to use Chinhoyi grounds as its home for the 2020 season.
The team is expected to camp in Kariba for two weeks.
“On Sunday we should be leaving for Kariba for two weeks where we expect to them to integrate as a team,” Mutukwa said.
He also said the team might go to Zambia for friendly matches.
“If all goes well they might skip to Zambia for a day or two days for some friendly matches,” Mutukwa added.
