HARARE, Zimbabwe – ICT Minister Tatenda Mavetera and Local Government Minister Daniel Garwe will headline the Smart Zimbabwe Conference & Expo 2025, set for July 17–18 at the Golden Conifer Functions Venue in Harare.

The conference, held under the theme “Smart Solutions, Smarter Economy: Integrating Global ICT Trends for Zimbabwe’s Future,” comes as the country steps up efforts to embed digital technologies into national development, in line with the Smart Zimbabwe 2030 Masterplan and Vision 2030.

Event organizer Rufaro Nyadembera, CEO of Zimshop.net, said the conference will serve as a national platform for dialogue on emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence, blockchain, the Internet of Things and digital payments.

“Smart Zimbabwe 2025 is not just about technology—it’s about practical solutions that improve lives, drive economic growth and ensure no one is left behind in the digital age,” Nyadembera said.

The two-day event will feature panel discussions on smart agriculture, digital skills, fintech and the future of work. Delegates are expected to include innovators, investors, policymakers and development partners.

A key highlight of the conference will be the Smart Zimbabwe Annual Awards, which recognize leaders in digital innovation.
