Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) has slammed President Emmerson Mnangagwa over deployment of police to thwart a planned stay-away.
“In this context, this crisis becomes a good platform to convey messages of change especially in a context where the state is bent on denying the citizens their rights to lawfully gather for rallies,” said Citizens Coalition for Change (CCC) youth assembly commander Obey Sithole.
“The people shall reward him with rest in 2023, he must join his age mates in the farm and spend time with his grandchildren,” he said.
“In other words Mnangagwa, in all his insurmountable failures, he is doing well in acting as the citizens’ mobilization secretary.”
Sithole also expressed disdain against the current transport chaos that has hit hard Zimbabwean citizens, equating the fiasco to incompetence on the part of the regime.
“The current transport challenges that the citizens are currently subjected to are a manifestation of the regime’s incompetence to meet the basic needs of the people.”
“Any effort to monopolize a service in every sector must follow well established capacity to meet demand. In the absence of such a capacity; the presence of evitable suffering of Citizens is inevitable. The ZUPCO initiative is a successful failure; people are suffered enough,” Sithole said.
He said the long queues and the huge crowds at bus termini could be potential rallies to take message of change to the citizens.
