Passion, Seh Calaz ‘war’ reaches fever pitch as dancehall star tears into clergyman

The cyber war between Zimdancehall star Seh Calaz, real name Tawanda Mumanyi, escalated this week with the firebrand chanter throwing jabs at flamboyant clergyman Passion Java.

Seh Calaz hit out at Java after the self-proclaimed prophet mocked him for the low-uptake of his latest Extended Playb(EP) titled Bvofiropariro.

Sharing his sentiments on his official Facebook page, Seh Calaz said Java’s comments were out of bounds.

“Handitenge ma views sezvaunoita (I don’t buy views like what you do),” said Seh Calaz.

The Zimdancehall artist who rose to stardom with songs such as Mabhanditi and Mumota Murikubvira and Kwatinobva Kwakasiyana Siyana threatened to release messages which were sent to him by Passion Java Records (PJR) coercing him to join their camp.

“You think that I do not have your messages. I do not boot-lick people because you have some few dollars, it is your money, I don’t pay those who love me,” fumed the Zimdancehall superstar.

The outburst was embraced by Zimdancehall fans who came to the defence of Seh Calaz saying Java is a “arrivalist in the genre” and should respect those who have been in the game for a long time.

“Java Java behave, this is Seh Calaz you are dealing with ndiye mambo weHondo warivara, you came in this game late, you are a Mafikizolo, uyu Tawanda anokupedza,” wrote one Milton Nyatsine on his Facebook wall.

Seh Calaz, known in the contemporary Zimdancehall music arena for his signature “Check Check Check” lyrical chant which features in most of his songs, has been involved in various dancehall including one with long-time friend the late Soul Jah Love.

Just like the Jamaican battle between Gully and Gaza, Seh Calaz and Soul Jah Love divided opinion.

Fans have called Seh Calaz to record a diss track to call Passion to order.

“Haaa Jah man uyu Panganai (Java) mupindirei mu studio so that he knows kuti mopisa not vice versa,” tweeted Tinashe Chakadza.

Java has been a social media hit since 2018 when he first sponsored Zimdancehall musicians among them Enzo Ishall.

Several such artists mention his name in their songs.

Java has hogged the limelight for controversial ‘wars’ with socialites.

Recently, he was trending for belittling members of the Seventh Day Adventist Church as he flaunted his wealth.

The controversial clergyman owns a record label Passion Java Records which recently roped in Rockford Josphats as the main artiste.
