Zimra extends the deadline for 2023 income tax returns

Zimbabwe Revenue Authority (Zimra) has granted taxpayers an extension for submitting their 2023 income tax returns, now due by the end of May. Originally set for April 30, 2024, the deadline shift aims to facilitate seamless filing in the Tax and Revenue Management System Self-Service Portal (TaRMS SSP).

In an advisory, the Commissioner of Domestic Taxes highlighted the availability of the income tax self-assessment for the period ending December 31, 2023, in TaRMS SSP. Additionally, Zimra emphasized the necessity of converting all financial figures into the new currency, the Zimbabwe Gold (ZiG), as reflected in TaRMS.

The extension presents taxpayers with a valuable opportunity to discharge their civic duties and contribute to the nation’s development by fulfilling their tax obligations.
