Harare – Zimbabwe’s tourism and aviation sectors have joined forces to attend the AviaDev Africa 2023 Conference in Nairobi, Kenya. The conference, which ran from 14 to 16 June 2023, was a platform for networking and collaboration among various stakeholders in the African aviation industry.
The Zimbabwe Tourism Authority (ZTA) and the Airports Company of Zimbabwe (ACZ) participated in several meetings with airlines, airports, tourism authorities and governments to explore ways of increasing connectivity and traffic to Zimbabwe’s key airports.
They also discussed how to develop airport facilities that support tourism and attract investment.
“The ZTA and ACZ recognised the importance of airports as the first impression of the country for travellers and as enablers of growth for the tourism sector. They also acknowledged the need to learn from best practices and develop airport masterplans that are aligned with future development goals,” said ZTA Coorporare Affairs Manager Godfrey Koti.
The ZTA and ACZ expressed their commitment to leading the collaboration between the tourism and aviation industries in Zimbabwe and welcomed the involvement of other public and private sector partners in these efforts.
