THE MESSENGER of Court on Wednesday pounced on 53 Livingstone Avenue ransacking the ZIFA HQ over a long standing debt owed to LED Travel & Tours.
LED Travel & Tours has been in a long-running battle to recuperate thousands of dollars owed by the association dating back to former president Cuthbert Dube’s reign.
The Felton Kamambo led board has been negotiating with LED Travel & Tours in the past few months but a solution has remained elusive.
ZIFA laywer Chenaimoyo Gumiro said the association was in the process of making an urgent chamber application at the High Court for stay of execution.
“We are surprised because the property was attached in terms of a court order issued in 2012 and subsequent writ of execution granted on 24 June 2015,” Gumiro told Zim Morning Post.
ZIFA insiders said the “legal process will come with costs on the troubled association’s part, costs which could have been avoided.”
