South Africa based gospel diva aims for the skies

SOUTH AFRICA based gospel musician Portia Mupfeki better known by his moniker  Gospel Queen has invaded the neighbouring country’s airwaves after her release of a 10-track singles collection.

Gospel Queen said she had a love of music at a tender age but her first professional recording was in February this year and the response has been overwhelming.

  “I started to sing when  I was a child but started recording early this year.

“I was shocked with the response I received and I will continue using music to spread the word of God.

“Will be a fisher of men through music,” she said speaking from her SA base.

Gospel Queen is inspired by events that occur in her surroundings and she tries to create a hypothetical alternative to the harsh realities that society face and give them solace through angelic music.

“Whenever  anything  bad or good  thing I   find  myself  singing  a song  about whatever  happens.

The singles collection was produced by Pro-sanic  Mugo

She has a vision to invade the gospel music hall of fame where she is inspired by the first family of gospel music Baba na Mai Charamba.

“In  five years’ time, I see  myself  being  great  in the gospel music Industry

 “Gospel  music  in Zimbabwe  is wonderful  but need to improve  to the international level “Local musicians write touching songs, “she said.

She is married to a pastor with Rock  of Ages International  ministries.

Gospel Queen’s tracks include Yeuka, Muri Mwari, Most High God,Ndinovimba nemi among others and all the tracks are pregnant with socially conscious lyrics.

She is currently working on a COVID-19 awareness song due for release soon.
