MDC national Vice President Job Sikhala has condemned Zanu PF national commissar and Defense minister Victor Matemadanda for bad mouthing lawyers in the MDC, the Zim Morning Post has learnt.
“It is so pathetic that an empty head like Victor Matemadanda would open his mouth spewing nonsense about clientsrepresented by MDC lawyers,” said Sikhala.
Sikhala said it is pathetic for someone like Matemadanda to speak in such a manner as he does not know how the law system works in Zimbabwe.
“Matemadana has no idea about how the law profession is governed through the legal Practitioners Act administered by our regulating authority, the Law Society of Zimbabwe,” he said.
He further said that it is clear that Matemadanda has forgotten that it was him that came to his rescue after he was arrested during the Mugabe era and that same draft of law defended him.
“The same draft Victor Matemadanda was defended by one of our outstanding human rights lawyer Beatrice Mtetwa when he was arrested by the law and order at Harare magistrates Court attending the case of one of his colleagues Douglas Mahiya.”
“Myself and Beatrice Mtetwa had to run up and down at Rotten row Magistrates court looking for him after he was whisked away by state security agents from law and order and the central intelligence organization.”
He further warned Matemadanda to stop using his power in interfering with things that he does not know as he is going too far.
“So for Matemadanda to quickly forget how the same lawyers came to his rescue yesterday because of the plastic and false power possession and try to regulate the conduct of professionals on the job which he has no idea about is getting too far,” he said.
