Scott replaces Mike Chimombe as AAG president

By Nigel Pfunde

Businessman Mike Chimombe who has been at the centre of sexual controversies has been thrown out of the top hierarchy of the Affirmative Action Group (AAG) with prominent Harare gold dealer Pedzai Sakupwanya taking over as AAG president.

Sakupwanya will be deputised by Passion Java while Elizabeth Masuku will take up the role of Vice President.

Anastancia Ndhlovu is now the second Vice President while Cuthbert Chitima assumes the role of Treasurer General.

Chimombe’s ouster is shrouded in mystery, barely 48 hours after Scott’s assertion to power – he was recently elected as a Mabvuku councillor or a Zanu PF ticket.

Chimombe was recently in the news for reportedly impregnating his wife’s younger sister, Panashe Rusero.

H-Metro who covered the story reported that sources revealed that the then AGG president had previously attempted to marry Panashe but the uncle he approached chased him away.

Reached for comment, AAG life president Philip Chiyangwa referred this reporter to Chamu Chiwanza.

Chiwanza said it was a culture of AAG to renew leadership periodically.

“Well, it is the culture of AAG to change guards periodically in smooth transitions, just as much as Honourable Supa Mandiwanzira passed the baton to cadres before and after him, I also acted as such. We are guided by democratic principles with the common denominator to empower in line with our mandate,” said Chiwanza.
