- Drama as NetOne boss is reinstated and fired again!
SUSPENDED NetOne chief executive Lazarus Muchenje has been fired, Zim Morning Post can reveal.
Muchenje was relieved of his duties on Friday on allegations of corruption which saw him being dragged to court.
Insiders told the Zim Morning Post that Muchenje was reinstated on Thursday as per the Labour Act procedure before being dismissed “procedurally” on Friday.
“He was suspended and challenged the suspension. The issue went to court leading to his reinstatement on Thursday as per procedure,” said the source.
“Then on Friday the board followed due process and terminated his services.”
Muchenje survived the chop twice after winning a court case against the board challenging his suspension.
Muchenje has a pending court case where he faces seven counts of criminal abuse of duty as a public officer and fraud.
He allegedly signed a contract with Bankai International (Pvt) Limited without board approval.
Other Netone employees who have been relieved of their duties include Darlington Gutu, the chief technical officer, Loveness Govera (Brand ambassador) as well as Tauya Mugwagwa.
