No sacred cows!
A Harare school has expelled the daughter of former cabinet minister Supa Mandiwanzira for breaching school regulations.
So livid was Mandiwanzira after his daughter, Yamikani, was expelled from a boarding facility at Chisipite Senior School that he approached the High Court through an urgent chamber application.
The former ICT minister is seeking an order nullifying the decision that was arrived at by the school and its headmistress, one Mrs L. Hill.
Mandiwanzira said the school authorities sent his daughter packing without conducting a hearing to determine his daughter’s guilt.
He added in his affidavit:
“Pending the determination of the application ; the applicant (Mandiwanzira) is granted the following relief:- that the first respondent (school) be and is hereby ordered to immediately retain Yamikani Mandiwanzira in its boarding facilities at Chisipite Senior School with all full undeterred benefits of a student admitted to such boarding facilities.”
He continued
“my daughter was expelled for having gone home without the school’s authority.”
The Zanu PF legislator claims that his daughter was only absent from the boarding facility as she had intended to collect material for a musical contest that was to be held at the school.
