A 39-YEAR-OLD self-styled prophet on Tuesday appeared before magistrate Learnmore Mapiye on charges of sexually molesting a 19-year-old girl at Chishawasha Flats under the pretext he was able to cure her of some medical complications.
The suspect, Obert Mandebvu, was denied bail and is in custody, with the trial set to resume on November 12.
Mandebvu allegedly lured the complainant from his shrine on October 8 and took her to Chishawasha Flats, having convinced her he could help cure her of some stomach complications.
The complainant alleged it was then that Mandebvu raped her.
