Just In: Govt revises civil servants, pensioners salaries

GOVERNMENT has on Wednesday made an upward review of civil servants and pensioners salaries and allowances by 50 percent with a non taxable allowance of US$75 payable in local nostro accounts, Zim Morning Post has learnt.

In a communique released Wednesday afternoon, government said civil servants and pensioners would, in addition to the 50 percent salary increment, also receive a flat, non-taxable COVID- 19 allowance per month with those currently employed getting US$ 75 and pensioners US$30.

Government said it was also considering extending non-monetary benefits to its employees, adding that discussions with relevant bodies are underway.

Meanwhile, civil servants have been asked to open nostro accounts to facilitate payment of their COVID 19 monthly allowances.
