MINISTER of Health and Child Care, Obadiah Moyo on Monday said doctors who defied his order to report for duty will go through a disciplinary hearing with high likelihood of dismissal, Zim Morning Post can report.
In a statement issued on Tuesday, Moyo said he made observations to see if the doctors had followed the directive he had given on October 5, 2019 of reporting for duty at 8am and noticed that some did not abide.
“I noted that some of the doctors did not take heed of the appeal that we made for them to come back to work this morning at 8am and still chose to stay away from their work stations,” Moyo said.
The minister added that, the government is allowing the court to take legal action against these doctors.
“Government is therefore allowing due legal process to continue with the labour court scheduled for tomorrow, wherein the Labour court will determine the legality of the mass job action,” Moyo added.
The medical doctors have been lamenting over poor wages and incapacitation for the past one month.
