Government endorses Tanya Muzinda …..as she readies for US trip

Report by Prince Butawu

GOVERNMENT has  thrown its weight behind teenage sensation and  MotorCross Champion Ambassador Tanya Muzinda and pledged to support her ahead of her trip to the United States for the World Championships, Zim Morning Post has learnt.

The Ministry of Primary and Secondary Education Paul Mavhima on Monday met Tanya and pledged that the government will try and harness financial  resources to support her as she flies the country’s flag and visibility.

He urged the corporate world to increase support as she is set to leave the country next week.

Mavhima registered his sentiments on his official microblogging site Facebook on Monday.

“Got a visit from Tanya Muzinda, the teenage Motocross sensation, and her crew today. This girl has made our country proud. I feel that we have not supported her enough. Let us rally behind her as she goes into her next season in the US.”

The trailblazing teenage sensation who is due to be awarded the African Child Sports Person of the Year 2019 in Ghana in a fortnight has been matching her brilliance off the race course. She recently kickstarted her initiative of sending 1000 students to school and has started the ball rolling  by identifying 100 children at Chinamano Primary School in Epworth who she is now paying school fees for.

Back to her mainstay Motorcross , Tanya is set to leave for the United States of America for the World Championships next week. Coincidentally, the state of Florida which will be her first port of call also happens to be the state Minister P Mavhima studied his doctorate under the Fullbright scholarship in 1994.

However, financial constraints have delayed Tanya from leaving and the support and pledge from government  comes at the right moment as she can now be expected to take to the skies on her way to setting new benchmarks of excellence. Her work in philanthropy has been inspirational, too many caps on a befitting head who is also the European Union Honorary Ambassador to Zimbabwe For Youth, Gender,Sports and Culture.
