Eat n’ Lick Reopens Leopold Takawira Branch, Expanding to Meet Customer Demands

HARARE – Fast-food chain, Eat n’ Lick, marked the reopening of its Leopold Takawira branch in Harare on Saturday, with a focus on customer convenience and offering a new, improved dining experience.

Chido Yvonne Mademutsa, the brand’s Marketing and Brand Manager, highlighted the company’s ongoing expansion efforts, which began last year with the launch of several new branches and food trailers in key locations.

“This whole strategy started last year with the opening of our four new branches,” Mademutsa explained. “We opened one in Machipisa, set up a trailer at Chitungwiza C Junction, and launched another food trailer. We also opened another branch at a second location. The goal is to create an expanding network that brings our services closer to our customers.”

The reopening of the Leopold Takawira branch, signifies Eat n Lick’s commitment to enhancing its services. The location, has rebranded to a more customer-friendly area to better accommodate its clientele.

“Looking at our Leopold Takawira branch, we realized it’s one of the oldest branches in Harare. We wanted to create a more comfortable and inviting atmosphere for our customers,” Mademutsa said. “We wanted the new space to be a place where people feel comfortable, enjoy their meals, and take pictures. With that in mind, we’ve made sure to incorporate features that provide something new and exciting for them.”

The company also addressed customer feedback by introducing a pizza section at the branch. Previously, the layout did not allow for the inclusion of this popular menu item, but the recent renovations now make it possible.

“We listened to what our customers wanted,” Mademutsa added. “For the few days that we were closed, many of our customers expressed concern over what they would be able to purchase, but we realized that pizza was something they were missing. The new setup allowed us to create a space for it, and we’re excited to share that with them.”

In a competitive market, Eat n Lick prides itself on not just keeping up with the trends but setting them. Mademutsa shared her thoughts on the company’s approach to competition: “In a market like this, we don’t compete with others; we compete with ourselves. Sometimes the standard other brands set is lower than what we aspire to. We constantly strive to break the rules, push boundaries, and offer our customers experiences they didn’t expect. For example, we introduced roadshows, outside catering, and corporate meal deliveries, services that other brands in our sector weren’t offering at the time.”

The reopening of the Leopold Takawira branch is just one part of Eat n Lick’s broader strategy to innovate, expand, and continue to deliver fresh and exciting experiences to its loyal customer base across the country.
