CHIMANIMANI – Rescue operations are stepping up in most affected areas of Ngangu and Kopa with six survivors rescued on Thursday by helicopters.
Four of the survivors were from Kopa while two from Ngangu.The survivors were on top of the mountains. Rescue crews are making efforts to airlift the survivors to safety who had spent four days in the mountains to escape the ravaging Cyclone ldai.
Members of the community are racing against time as they are digging through the rabbles in search of bodies.
Meanwhile, aid agencies are coming in with assistance that include food, clothes, blankets and medication among others.
