Cimas, one of Zimbabwe’s leading health insurance providers, has strengthened its healthcare footprint with the opening of a modern Obstetrics and Gynaecology (OB-GYN) ward at the Avenues Clinic in Harare. The newly refurbished facility is designed to enhance maternal and women’s health services while improving overall patient care.

The official unveiling took place during a media tour organised by the health insurer, allowing journalists to view the upgraded spaces, which include birthing suites, post-natal recovery rooms, consultation areas, and nurse stations.

According to clinic officials, the renovations have transformed the ward into a contemporary, patient-centered environment. The facility features four private rooms, each offering added comforts such as a complimentary photoshoot and a customised canvas for mothers and their newborns. State-of-the-art medical equipment and improved clinical infrastructure have also been introduced to support specialised maternal and women’s healthcare.

Sibusisiwe Ndhlovu, General Manager of the Avenues Clinic, said the project reflects a wider commitment to expanding healthcare access and standards in Zimbabwe. “We have renovated two-thirds of the wards in this hospital as we strive to support the government’s efforts in providing health services,” she told the media.

The Avenues Clinic, a longstanding pillar in Harare’s healthcare sector, continues to position itself as a leader in patient-focused service delivery. The investment in the OB-GYN ward underscores its mission to combine clinical excellence with comfort, ensuring expectant mothers and women receive world-class care.
