Highfield West Legislator Happymore ‘Bvondo’ Chidziva has expressed his interest to contest for the MDC Alliance deputy chairperson post which will render him a member of the party’s presidium..
The party will hold an elective congress in May and there has been a lot of bickering between party members aspiring to hold positions.
In an interview with Zim Morning Post on Saturday, Chidziva confirmed that he wants to be in the presidium .
“It is now time for young people to occupy critical positions in the party ,the Youth Assembly has asked me to go for the position of Vice Chairman and who am I to deny the blessings of the Youth Assembly,” said Chidziva.
Chidziva was very instrumental in the MDC Alliance campaigns in the run up to the 2018 harmonised elections
Chidziva has served in different capacities in the MDC and he has been arrested several times by the State on political grounds but he has never convicted.
