Blow for CAPS as Mwanjali is ruled out for rest of season

TITLE-chasing-CAPS United’s defense has been dealt a major blow after center-back Method Mwanjali on Sunday sustained an ankle injury that will keep him out for the remainder of the season.

Mwanjali was stretchered off in the first half of his side’s 3-1 victory over Hwange at the National Sports.

He was immediately ferried to the hospital for further treatment.
CAPS United officials told Zim Morning Post the player coach will have to cheer on his side from the sidelines.

He will wear a plaster cast on the lower leg and ankle for six weeks before review,” a top official told Zim Morning Post.

On Sunday the Green Machine opened a five point lead at the top of the Castle Lager Premier League table after their 3-1 victory over Hwange.

FC Platinum are in second on 45 points from 26 matches played so far.
