This year’s edition of the Zimbabwe International Book Fair (ZIBF) is set to be bigger, organisers have revealed.
It will run under the theme “Footprints of the book: Milestones and opportunities.
The premier event will run from July 29 to August 3 and interim executive chair Memory Chirere told journalists in Harare on Tuesday that he hopes the media will do everything to attract readers and exhibitors.
“Once more welcome to this event which is largely meant for the media.
“We value and trust the media to inform the public accurately about the goings on at ZIBF and, now in particular the book fair matters that we are having a few days from today,”Chirere said.
“We are persuading our media is the issue of exhibitions and book displays but book fair goes beyond that”
“Please, find time to attend the Indaba and tease out for your readers,” he said
“It is the Association’s submission that a theme such as Footprints of the book :Milestones and opportunities would give ZIBF an opportunity to look back and identify what stakeholders think are the milestones we achieved so far,” he said.
ZIBF has been recorded to be the largest and most important book fair in Sub-Saharan Africa held annually usually during the first week of August.
