HARARE – Power Giants Africa Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Eng. Edzai Kachirekwa, has accepted an invitation to speak and receive the African Business Leadership Excellence Award 2025 at the 11th International Forum on African-Caribbean Leadership (IFAL), set to be held on the sidelines of the 80th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York this September.
Dr. Kachirekwa was selected for the award by the African Leadership Organisation for his “visionary leadership, innovation in clean energy solutions, consistent excellence in customer engagement, and the far-reaching socio-economic impact” of his work across the African continent.
In the official invitation letter, Dr. Ken Giami, Founder and Chief Executive Officer of the African Leadership Organisation, wrote:
“In recognition of your sterling leadership as Chief Executive Officer of Power Giants Africa, and your groundbreaking contributions to the renewable energy and power engineering sectors across the SADC region and the African continent, the Board is delighted to inform you that you have been selected to receive the African Business Leadership Award 2025.
“This award celebrates your visionary leadership, innovation in clean energy solutions, consistent excellence in customer engagement, and the far-reaching socio-economic impact of your work across Africa—attributes that position you as a role model for the next generation of African business leaders.”
Dr. Giami further noted that Dr. Kachirekwa is also set to receive a special Commendation/Proclamation from the General Assembly of the U.S. State of South Carolina, awarded to foreign individuals considered “especially admirable or otherwise worthy of distinction.”

The IFAL forum, organized by the UK-based African Leadership Organisation, will feature a gathering of global leaders, policymakers, and private sector players to discuss strategic cooperation between Africa and the Caribbean.
As part of his participation, Dr. Kachirekwa will also feature in the Special IFAL Edition of the African Leadership Magazine, and take part in networking sessions, panel discussions, and leadership interviews.
The award ceremony and forum are expected to attract over 250 global business and political leaders, adding Dr. Kachirekwa to a distinguished list of past attendees that includes African heads of state and senior officials from the U.S. and UK legislatures.
