FLAMBOYANT cleric Passion Java is holed up in the country attending his ailing mother Christine Java (nee Rambanepasi), who is battling for her life, Zim Morning Post can report.
Christine Java, who is an MDC Alliance Buhera Senator is suffering from an undisclosed type of cancer which is at advanced stage.
She was recently discharged from hospital and is believed to be in the care of home-based nurses who come with a hefty fee.
Reached for comment, Passion’s brother Artwell (Java) confirmed that Christine Java was not well adding she has been discharged from hospital.
“She was discharged from hospital. I’ m not at liberty to discuss anything further. It’s not for the public domain,” Artwell told Zim Morning Post.
A close family friend told this publication that Christine Java was in a critical condition.
“She in a critical condition such that Passion can’t afford to fly back out. He loves his mother dearly and besides all the social media antics, he has a good heart and his human side is showing,” said his friend who refused to be identified.
The friend added that the situation was so bad that some elders in the family suggested euthanasia.
Euthanasia, also called mercy killing, is act or practice of painlessly putting to death persons suffering from painful and incurable disease.
Passion and his siblings have, however, chosen to have faith in their mother’s recovery.
“Being a Christian, Passion and his siblings value the sanctity of life and were against such a proposal that they deemed demonic,” added the friend.
The sanctity of the right to life is also protected by the supreme law of our land hence illegal in Zimbabwe.
Passion is believed to be staying in Borrowdale Brooke and efforts to get in touch with him were fruitless at the time of writing.
The miscommunication was highly likely owing to network challenges since he had travelled to Vumba Mountains on the same day.
Passion recently bought his mother a house in Houghton Park and he is known for showering praises on her even during sermons when he led Kingdom Embassy located along Simon Muzenda Street (next
to Eastgate Mall).
In reciprocation, Christine Java has always waxed lyrical about her son’s prophetic calling.
She is on record saying Passion (real name Panganayi) was born unique and she only breastfed him for just over a month.
She also revealed that Passion prophesied his father Charles (Java)’s death at the tender age of six. Passion’s older brother Batsirai Java, the leader of Tabernacles of Grace ministry was married to the late MDC Member of Parliament Vimbai Tsvangirai and Passion reportedly prophesied her death a fortnight before the fatal accident.
He is the youngest child in a family of six with three boys and two sisters.
Meanwhile, Passion caused tongues wagging on social media last week when he posted an image of himself and Mnangagwa prompting sharp criticism from anti-Mnangagwa social media users.
His family background speaks of diverse political views, with his mother being a senior MDC Alliance official, his brother (Batsirai) married to a former MDC Alliance Glen View MP and MDC founding president Morgan Tsvangirai’s daughter Vimbai (now late).
Impeccable sources told this publication that Passion is still with his wife Lilly despite claims to the contrary.
“It was a diversion of the careless post he had made which brought in wild criticism,” said one of his close allies.
