ACE Sungura musician Alick Macheso is this week set to release a single which will set the mood for the festive season, Zim Morning Post can reveal.
Titled Zuro Ndizuro, the much anticipated single drops on December 4 and it has the Midas Touch of veteran producer Bothwell Nyamhondera.
It was recorded at Macheso’s Alema Studios in Chitungwiza.
Zim Morning Post spoke to Macheso’s publicist Tich Makahamadze and he confirmed the development.
The single is a ‘teaser’ to an album titled Band Revanhu that is also due for release during the festive season.
“We are releasing the single on December 4.
“It would be unfair to our fans if we complete the year without giving them something,” Makahamadze said.
Makahamadze said the release of the single was historic since Macheso has never released singles before.
“This is the first time for Orchestra Mberikwazvo to release a single and we have done so for the fans.
“It’s a special for them but we will also include it on the forthcoming album. Details on the new album will be revealed very soon. We salute our fans for the patience and this single will take them down the festive season,” said Makahamadze.
Macheso boasts of a decorated discography with 11 albums with hit albums like Magariro (1998), Vakiridzo (1999), Zvido Zvenyu Kunyanya (2003) Vapupuri Pupurai (2005) and Zvinoda Kutendwa (2010) among others.
He is known for producing hits that keeps music aficionados on their feet , with his music laced with strong instrumentation and deep lyrics that people can relate to in their everyday lives.
